Our non-structural NZ pine plywood is a handiply product and is versatile, low cost option for all sorts of general-purpose building and DIY projects.
Non-structural plywood must not be used in any structural or load bearing application as outlined under the NZ Building Code. Non structural plywood is not compliant with AS/NZS 2269.

Made right here in NZ from radiata pine, this ply still has an A-grade glue-line, so even though it’s not rated for structural use, this cheap ply is strong and reliable.

Common uses include:

  • Temporary hoardings and weatherproofing for damaged buildings.

  • Non-structural packaging and crates.

  • Ground coverings and landscaping fences.

  • Dog kennels, playhouses, and garden sheds.

  • Furniture, toys, or DIY projects.

  • General budget wall linings and formwork where structure & appearance isn’t critical.

This ply isn’t structurally tested (no F-rating), so it’s not suitable where materials need to meet the NZ Building Code. But for everything else, it’s a solid and cost-effective option.

Not sure if you need structural ply or not? Get in touch or drop by our Penrose warehouse and we’ll help you pick the right sheet for your project.
