Stabilised Jointing Sand

Stabilised Jointing Sand has been specifically formulated using graded washed sand and additives to allow rapid filling of all vertical joints in segmental paving.  It is a jointing material which generally conforms to guidelines set out by the Clay Brick and Paver Institute’s ‘Design Manual One For Segmental Paving Units’.  Stabilised Jointing Sand is suitable for use in the following situations: Driveways, Footpaths, Heavy Traffic Areas, Sloping Sites, High Wind Areas, Roadways, Airport Standing Areas, Surfaces where Mobile Vacuum Sweepers are used.
The Contents of this bag (30kg nett) will cover approximately 10-12m2 at a maximum of 3mm gap width.
When it has dried and gelled Pave-Fill will remain flexible and allow slight movement of pavers without cracking.  Your paved area will be ready for use after a minimum of 24 hours setting time.

Instructions

Prior to the full application, you may wish to trial a small area of say, 1m2 to test paver suitability (moisture and surface texture).  Stabilised Jointing Sand MUST be spread onto DRY pavers and swept into vertical joints until completely filled.  The paved area must be then swept clean of Stabilised Jointing Sand and receive at least two passes of a plate vibrator to ensure compaction of tight joints.  A rubber roller attachment or carpet can be used under the late to protect the pavers.  Check with paving supplier on the suitability of compacting pavers less than 50mm thick. The joints should then be topped up by sweeping more Stabilising Jointing Sand over the area prior to final compaction of at least two more passes with a plate vibrator.
Before applying an even spray of clean water over the paved area, ensure that all excess Stabilised Jointing Sand is swept from the surface to avoid it adhering to the top of the pavers.
Thorough gradual soaking of the paved area should be completed to allow water to penetrate through the joints.
