The integrity of SIGNGLOSS sign panels is directly related to how well the panels are fixed to the framing.

Fixing to timber framing.

  • Plyfast screws are recommended because of their increased holding power and avoidance of head popping
  • Screw lengths in timber framing, should be 20mm to 25mm longer than the panel thickness.
  • Care must be taken no to overdrive gun screws.
  • Allowance must be made for expansion between sheets in multi sheet signs.
  • Fixings should be no more than 15mm from edge of sheet.
  • Spacing for fixings is recommended at 400mm along perimeter of sheet and 600mm across and along centre framing for fascia fixing.

Freestanding signs will require fastening appropriate to the wind conditions for the vicinity.

Fixing to concrete.
  • Consider general guide above where applicable.
  • Dyna bolts minimum 6mm diameter for fastening directly onto the wall.
  • Fasten timber battens to wall at appropriate centres and fix panels with Plyfast screws.
PLYFAST SCREWS are purpose designed for use in plywood.  PLYFAST SCREWS are manufactured in durable stainless steel.  The head design has a positive square drive with a bugle head profile as opposed to countersunk.  This head has the effect of easing the top veneer of the plywood and forming a gasket like seal down rather than cutting through it.  They are self tapping and available in strip form if required.

Available in 25mm x 3.4mm, 40mm x 3.5mm and 55mm x 3.5mm.
